Basic Fault Diagnosis
Before contacting Systemcare, below are some useful pointers in helping us solve and identify the fault.
- How do I determine if a fault is in my phone handset or the actual telephone system?
- Firstly unplug your phone from its wall socket and swap it over with exactly the same type of phone another user is using. If the problem follows your phone, your phone has a fault. If the problem remains where your phone was originally plugged in, it is either a wiring fault or the telephone system itself. Either way contact Systemcare, or click on the "report a fault" button.
- I have no dial tone. What should I do before reporting a fault?
- If the phone is dead e.g. no lights or display indication, check power supply (if the phone relies on one). Also make sure the line cord is plugged into the socket. If there is no life in the phone, swap it over with exactly the same type of phone another user is using. If the problem remains where your phone was originally plugged in, it is either a wiring fault or the telephone system itself. Either way contact Systemcare, or click on the "report a fault" button.
